What if I told you that you could have more energy at the end of the day than when you started?
The #1 cause of premature aging is not stress, not genetics...but the “failure to thrive!”
Most of us can look at a fig tree and see when it is not thriving. Its leaves are falling, its branches are thin and its soil is dry. It will survive for some time in that state before it finally dies. We can look at that fig tree and know that food and sunlight will give it new life – yet, in our own lives, we are often grateful to have just enough energy to make it through the day.
Thriving is a “creation” energy. It is about creating new life. To do this, we must determine what choices feed us and design our life around those choices.
To be clear, some things we do give us energy (or feed us) and some things (like getting angry) take energy and offer nothing in return. So, it is really a matter of where you spend your energy and what return you get on your investment! If it doesn’t feed you, don’t do it!
After all, you wouldn’t invest your money in a business venture that leaves you broke at the end of the day. Nor would you gamble on a relationship that was sure to leave you wanting. So, why do that with your energy?
Most of us can think of a handful of activities that leave us feeling “jazzed” - and twice as many reasons why we can’t do them. The key here is to increase your options. Ask yourself: what kinds of activities will feed your heart, your physical body, your spirit, your intellect? What makes you feel alive? How do you feed your desire for self-expression and creativity? Are your leaves falling? When was the last time you played?
Want to slow down the aging process? It isn’t about “finding the energy” to be active. It is about actively creating the energy.
Go ahead, live the life you want! Every cell in your body will thank you!
